Melbourne: Geometric announced it release of its much awaited CAMWorks version 2010. And is now available is Australia.
CAMWorks 2010 mainly focuses on further strengthening of the already powerful machining capabilities in Multi-Axis milling and turning. Users can now program parts in a more user friendly and a faster environment
Some of the improvements in Turning are, now you can have more control when defining the variable allowances along the feature at the same time reducing the complexities and time taken to program. More realistic simulations can now be created which further simplifies the stock definition resulting in more predictable and efficient tool path. For Turning and Mill/turn machining involving irregular casting stock shapes, an STL file can now be used to represent the stock.
There is some good news on the Multi-axis machining too, tool path can now be generated on highly complex part models. The addition of new controls now simplifies the procession god blisks and impellers. Safely entering and retracting from the part has become more flexible and easier than previous versions.
Visual enhancements have been made to features like stock display and tooling. Because of these visual enhancements users can now improve productivity by simplifying programming is a more realistic machining environment.
More accurate estimates can be made since the computation for machining time has been modified and updated. These estimates can further be utilized for costing and process planning purposes. For large scale deployments of CAMWorks support for SQL Server Express has been added.
